Set the Scene for Your Sensational Wedding Day

Hi, ladies! Amid all the engagement excitement and bridal party brouhaha, it’s easy to forget about perfecting one of the most integral parts to a wonderful wedding: where to get married. While it’s easy to get swept up in the fantasy of having a palatial ceremony in an opulent locale, why not create that magical moment with your own special touch? After all adding your own special touch will allow you to make your dreams come true on that special day without driving yourself crazy in the process. Not sure on where to start? Well, we at Yazzie & Co. have some great wedding venue ideas for you, so read on and get inspired!

Believe it when we say that it is very important than ever to use your imagination in choosing a bridal location that speaks directly to you (and your-soon-to-be-spouse). For instance, if you’re the type of bride-to-be that basks in the center of attention, you can bring the drama by having your bridal ceremony at the theatre. That’s right; you can rent a performance venue and get married onstage, all while sharing that Hollywood experience with your loved ones by having your reception in the grand lobby.

Then again, if low-key is your thing, you can’t go wrong with marrying your honey on the rooftop patio of a fabulous five-star restaurant. Maintain that intimate vibe by booking the space during off-peak hours - enjoy that once-in-a-lifetime chance to have your first dance in the midst of a breathtaking view.

Should neither of these ideas appeal to you, you and your hubby-to-be can always become one with nature and tie the knot in a public park. With untapped treasures such as a botanical garden or a grassy terrace, there are plenty of spots in the park that are ripe for eternal romantic memories.

What’s the best part about each place? You’ll only have to spend a fraction of the cost! Now what bride-to-be wouldn’t want to maintain that sassy, sophisticated and soulfulness without spending a bundle? Take it from us at Yazzie & Co.; we believe that everyone deserves to have an unforgettable wedding!

Sista or Sistafriend: Building Your Best Bridal Party

Hi, ladies! We know that you’re glowing with the promise of a new beginning, for the ring is exquisite and you’re floating on cloud nine. However, all the wonderful wedding planners out there can’t make the prime choice of picking your bridal party. It is your firsthand knowledge of who to share one of the most important moments of your life with that brings up that all-important decision: whom to include in your circle of bridal sisterhood? Should you choose the sisters that have shared everything from household chores to a tiny bedroom? Or should you opt for the sistas that you’ve shared that bond with from the first kept secret? While this choice is yours, we at Yazzie & Co. will present the case for both sisters and sista girl.

Let’s start with your sisters – also known as the women who have known everything about you since birth. They know firsthand how it is to deal with the demands of family and have a knack for keeping the peace while holding your hand throughout the entire process. And most importantly, your eternal connection will withstand your occasional bouts of Bridezilla-itis.

Then there are your sistas, who have always been the voices of reason in your life. Now that you’ve been thrust into wedding-planning chaos, you’ll need your girls to help you keep your cool. Inviting your best friends to take part in your special day will also strengthen your bond, while guaranteeing them the chance to show that fabulous bridesmaid style off for eligible brothas to enjoy.

Whatever you do decide, Yazzie & Co. can definitely hook your chic bridesmaids and magnificent maid-of-honor up. With huge shoes to fill, your sisters and your girls can support you in style with our bridal party t-shirts. This Moment Is Ours

Monumental. Inspiring. Awesome. These words describe the last 72 hours –better known as the election of the first African-American president of the United States. We came together on Tuesday, as Americans, to vote for definitive change – change that is imminent with our choice for our next Commander In Chief. Outdated attitudes were cast aside for undeniable possibilities as we seized the opportunity to rewrite America’s future.

Pride. Glory. Determination. These describe what we as a people feel in knowing, rather, believing that anything can be accomplished once you set your mind to it. This momentous occasion exposes the fact that we as black people were forced to cast aside this dream throughout American history. Many of our parents warned us not to wish too hard for the complete triumph that was granted to others because they had been disappointed for generations by this country themselves, we resigned ourselves to expect less than what we deserved. Yet now, today’s parents can take pride in being able to tell their children, without hesitation or reservation, that they, too, can grow up to be the President of the United States if they set their minds to it. This past Tuesday proved to ALL that the pride of an American family isn’t relegated to just one model. Tomorrow’s future will look to November 4, 2008 as a day when the dreams of our ancestors, indeed, came true.

We, as Americans, have taken full advantage of the chance that we have been given to turn our country around. We have elected a man that has pledged to unite us while building a better future for us and our children. Though the real work now begins, there is absolutely no doubt that we can accomplish anything. Our American victory on Tuesday night definitely attests to that.
